How to Forward Calls on T-Mobile

T-Mobile gives you two ways to forward calls. Unconditional forwarding sends every call away immediately; your phone never rings. Conditional forwarding lets your phone ring first, then reroutes the call only if you don't answer. Most people setting up an AI receptionist want conditional forwarding, since it catches only the calls they miss.

Before you start

You'll need the number you're forwarding to. If you're using Upfirst, find your forwarding number at the top of your dashboard.

If you have an iPhone, turn off Live Voicemail first. Go to Settings, tap Apps, scroll to Phone, and toggle Live Voicemail off. Live Voicemail can intercept a missed call before your forwarding rule kicks in, which makes conditional forwarding behave inconsistently. Android doesn't have this feature, so you can skip straight to the codes.

Set up conditional call forwarding on T-Mobile

Conditional forwarding uses three separate codes, one for each reason a call might not connect. Set up all three if you want every missed call covered.

No answer: Dial **61* followed by your forwarding number, then #. For example: **61*15551234567#. Press call and wait for the confirmation message.

Busy line: Dial **67* followed by your forwarding number, then #. Press call.

Unreachable (phone off or out of signal): Dial **62* followed by your forwarding number, then #. Press call.

Use the same number for all three if you want every missed call routed to one place, like your Upfirst number.

Turn off conditional call forwarding

Dial ##61# and press call. Then dial ##67# and press call. Then dial ##62# and press call. Each code clears a different condition, so all three need to run to fully turn off conditional forwarding.

Set up unconditional call forwarding on T-Mobile

Unconditional forwarding sends every call away the moment it comes in. Your phone won't ring at all, so only use this if you genuinely don't want calls reaching your device.

Dial **21* followed by your forwarding number, then #. Press call and wait for the confirmation message.

Turn off unconditional call forwarding

Dial ##21# and press call. Calls will start ringing on your phone again immediately.

Replace [number] with the 10-digit number you're forwarding to. No spaces, no dashes.

If it's not working

No confirmation message. Wait a few seconds and try again. A weak signal can drop the code before it registers.

Calls still going to voicemail. Check that Live Voicemail is off if you're on an iPhone. It can catch a call before conditional forwarding activates.

Number rejected. T-Mobile only forwards to 10 or 11-digit US numbers. International numbers aren't supported.

Forwarding stopped on its own. Some T-Mobile plans reset forwarding after a SIM swap, device change, or extended time without signal. Re-run the activation code if calls stop routing.

Forward your calls to Upfirst

Once your T-Mobile forwarding is set up, missed calls route straight to Upfirst instead of voicemail. Upfirst answers, handles the conversation, and sends you a text summary so nothing falls through.

Grab your forwarding number from your Upfirst dashboard, then follow the conditional forwarding steps above.
